The Great British Spring Clean – 8 March 2024 – The Langfords

For your diaries:  Saturday 8 March – 10 am.

The “Great British Spring Clean”, a nationwide initiative, is being organised again throughout the country for this coming spring.

The Parish Council are keen that we as a community take part in this nationwide clean-up of litter lying along the B and C roads within our Parish boundaries so please plan to come along to help us and bring your family along with you too!

The plan is to meet outside Westfield House (just around the corner from the Parish Hall heading towards Wylye) at 10 am on Saturday 8 March.  (The Parish Hall is closed for maintenance).  You will be briefed, issued with litter picking kit and divided into small groups ready to clear the litter off our Parish roads.

Please plan to come along to help us and bring your family along with you too!  The whole outing should only last a couple of hours at the most.  We are a bit short of volunteers this year and would love it if you felt you could join in to increase numbers.  The weather on Saturday is looking good so it should be an enjoyable morning!

What to Bring with You?

To be safe, please plan to bring with you a high visibility jacket for each member of your party together with protective gloves, good walking shoes and warm clothing!  A pool of high visibility jacket is available to borrow from for those that do not have one.

At the end of the morning we will gather all the full rubbish bags together in a heap on the pavement by the Parish Hall and Wiltshire Council will take them all away during the following week.

If you are able to attend – please let Cllr Jeremy Broad know – via “jeremy.broad@steeplelangford-pc.gov.uk”.
