Proactive activity, events and engagement
On Wednesday 22nd January PCSO HOUSE went to the Winterbourne Earls Drop-in Café and set up to complete admin work out of the office while being available for anyone attending to come and discuss any policing matters. If you have any events in your village you think would benefit from similar, please get in touch and let us know.
On Thursday 23rd January PCSO HOUSE and PC COX went to Woodford Primary School to discuss parking and traffic issues with staff and supervised during pick-up time.
On Monday 27th January PCSO HOUSE and PC COX attended Tea at Three at Edgars Close in Steeple Langford and chatted with those present about policing matters in the area.
From the end of December into the beginning of January the team had use of the mobile police station, which we brought along on different days to Steeple Langford, Shrewton and Middle Woodford. We will be looking to do the same again, with some variation in the locations, next time the van is with us.
Upcoming – On Saturday 8th February from 14:00 until at least 15:00 PCSO HOUSE will be working out of The Crown in Cholderton and will be available to speak to face to face. Again, if you have a business establishment where we could be present and available, please let us know.
Priority Patrols
There are currently no specifically targeted patrols in the Amesbury Rural area, meaning that our activity will be more widespread and generalised.
Speed Enforcement
On 7th January on the High Street in Tilshead, Speed Enforcement caught 2 vehicles speeding through the 30mph limit, with the fastest travelling at 38mph. Both drivers will be offered a speed awareness course depending on previous convictions and history.
On 9th January near the Social Club in Boscombe, the team caught 4 vehicles speeding through the 40mph limit, with the fastest travelling at 48mph. All of the drivers will be offered a speed awareness course depending on previous convictions and history.
