Proactive activity, events and engagement

On Saturday 8th February PCSO HOUSE spent an hour doing admin work in The Crown Inn, Cholderton, and was available for anyone to approach and discuss local questions and issues.

On Friday 21st February PC COX and PCSO HOUSE took the Mobile Police Station to the recreation ground in Shrewton and spoke to residents there.

On 28th February PCSO HOUSE and PCSO MORPHY went to Winterbourne Earls Primary School to deliver a session to the Early Years children about people who keep them safe and what to do if they get lost, and there was time for them to dress up with some kit and explore a police van.

Priority Patrols

This month there have been a number of incidents in Great Wishford, including some that are not appropriate to include in this report but that may cause concerns for local residents. While these are not all linked, it’s still worrying to have a heightened amount of activity in what is usually a very quiet village. As a result we will be focusing patrols in the village.

Speed Enforcement

On 10th February on the Portway and Gomeldon Road in Winterbourne Gunner, Speed Enforcement caught 4 vehicles speeding through the 30mph limit, with the fastest travelling at 42mph. All of the drivers will be offered a speed awareness course depending on previous convictions and history.

On the same day the team also set up on Amesbury Road in Cholderton. They caught 2 vehicles speeding through the 30mph limit, with the fastest travelling at 39mph. Both of the drivers will be offered a speed awareness course depending on previous convictions and history.
